We love the attention to detail here, which according to us always enhances the ambiance.
The owner is a passionate wine lover and has an impressive collection of wines in his cellar, which is actually part of the Wein Kellerei wine bar. Fun fact: the bar can be accessed via a ‘secret passage’ from the hotel.
But whether you’re staying at the hotel or not, this is a fantastic spot to relax with a glass of wine, some cheese and cured meats, either on the terrace or inside. By the way, say hi from us to Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets—are they still up on the balcony?
Throughout the hotel, there are plenty of cozy corners with a fireplace to sit, play a game, or just relax. Outside, the terrace is beautifully lit and designed, creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind.
In and around Fiss
We think Fiss is a truly beautiful village—the only one of the winter sports areas we know of that still has such an authentic atmosphere. Old barns are still in use around the village, adding to its charm. It’s a lovely place for an (evening) stroll, with a bit of hilly terrain adding a touch of challenge to the walk.
The most beautiful (small-scale) hut in Fiss is, in our opinion, the Wonnealm, with its authentic charm, cozy interior, and delicious traditional Austrian cuisine. Honestly, isn’t this just a picture-perfect spot? Plus, there’s a lovely sunny terraceto enjoy!
Après-ski in Fiss happens ‘selbstverständlig’ at Hexenalm. Located at the bottom of the Schönjoch descent, this extensive umbrella bar is the perfect spot for after skiing. It gets even more lively and fun with a live performance from a local artist.
